Facials

Facials are beauty treatments that are designed to exfoliate, invigorate or treat the skin of the face, although often seen as a luxury facials should be part of everyone’s regular skin care routine as facials can be very impactful.

Facials are a good way to relax and refresh, they also help remove dead skin to bring brighter and rejuvenated skin on the surface. However there are different types of facials serving different needs in their own unique way;

Classic facials

This facial is calming  and great for both dry and normal skin types it includes deep cleansing, moisturizing massage and steam treatment (to remove extra dirt) exfoliation, extraction and moisturizing mask or a hydrating serum.

This process often begin after consultation with thorough cleansing using a cotton pad, then skin analysis is carried out to know what skin type is to be worked on, after which steaming, exfoliation (using either chemical or mechanical exfoliant), extraction (of blackheads and whiteheads), facial massage, face mask and application of toner.

Electric current facial

Also called non-invasive face lift, the details of this facial type is in using a low-grade electrical current to “train” facial muscles to appear more lifted and firm. A micro current device is used alongside wet sponges to stimulate the face and neck area.

The process is as a face working out, when stimulated the muscles gradually gain firmness until it is at a desired level.

Aromatherapy

This facial is both beneficial and relaxing, going by its name it has to do with smell, hence it is done with the use of essential oils extracted from plants and flowers, it serves as alternative medicine in skincare.

The process is quite similar to those previously stated it involves cleansing, exfoliating, and basically all others only this time with the application of essential oils on the skin alongside other accompanying products.

Lymphatic facial

A lymphatic drainage facial is a relaxing massage that helps eliminate toxins and encourages both good health and glowing skin. Manual drainage of these nodes speeds up detoxification, boosts the immune system, and gives skin back its healthy glow, this process reduces puffiness.

Although,  unlike therapeutic massage, where  muscle groups are targeted and firm pressure is needed to release tension, a lymphatic drainage facial requires light touch. The therapist gently massages the face in upward motions, targeting the lymph nodes to encourage drainage with moisturizing serum that improves the skin without irritation.

Anti-aging facials

This type employs the use of products designed to slow aging process, and we have quite a number of them to choose from including; vitamin-infused serums, collagen creams, and rejuvenating facial massage techniques.

Other anti-aging solution procedures include light therapy facials, laser skin services, and microdermabrasion (uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it).

Laser facial

It’s a treatment that elevates the basic facial, by using a laser to remove the top layer of skin, gently resurfacing the face and correcting minor flaws, as a result providing a safe and effective means of stimulating collagen and blend skin tone. Laser facial is often used to tone down the appearance of wrinkles, age spots, uneven skin tone, sun damage, scars, etc.

LED (Light-Emitting Diode)

LED therapy also known as Color Light Therapy is a non-invasive procedure  that exposes your skin to light energy as it harnesses different wavelengths of light to address breakouts and inflammation, the light is absorbed into the surface at various depths to stimulate reactions within the skin. Hence it promotes cellular growth and repair and gives you a healthy, rejuvenated look.

This procedure is perfect for reducing acne, and minimizing the appearance of sunspots, facial lines and wrinkles.

When deciding to do a facial there are this that must be taken into consideration, they include  The facial type this is because the options are numerous and to know what type suits you should know what exactly you want to address because even though all facials are to improve the quality of the face condition they all have particular purposes they best serve. Is it good to facial your face?

As the experts suggest, facials are good for the skin as they improve its health. Deep cleansing and exfoliation allows for a greater cell turnover, resulting in softer, more even skin that is less prone to breakouts and shows fewer signs of ageing.
